Tewksbury Memorial High has had the benefit of an FRC robotics team since 2004. Prior to being the TITANS, the team was known as the Funk Zombies and Masterlink Miliita. Regardless of the branding, the goal has always been to introduce Tewksbury’s students to STEAM and give them hands on and real world experience.
The team is open to Tewksbury High School students as well as Tewksbury Wynn Middle School eighth graders.
During the design and build phases, it’s not uncommon for students to spend 40 or more hours a week in the lab, outside of school or other extracurricular activities. This level of dedication speaks to the focus and love the team has for the program.
Outside of the regular season, the TITANS compete in friendly, off-season events as well as attend outreach events in the community.
In October 2023, the TITANS hosted the New England Robotics Derby (N.E.R.D.) at the high school. This event was a collaboration with the Billerica Bionics (FRC Team 4909).
The TITANS are committed to creating an environment of learning and growth, where students develop skills in engineering, programming, teamwork, and problem-solving while embracing gracious professionalism. While the team focuses on innovation, collaboration, sustainability, and continuous improvement, they also take pride in their successes. These achievements motivate them to refine their skills, improve strategies, and embrace the process. Trophies and banners inspire the Titans to pursue new challenges, fostering personal growth and collective achievement as they set their sights on even greater goals.
